Governor Dayton and Mayor Bender will be participating in a “Red Wing Rail Safety Roundtable” at the Red Wing Public Library (225 East Avenue), Foot Room, August 19th from 10AM—11AM. Representatives from Red Wing, Wabasha, and Goodhue Counties will come together to discuss rail safety. Commissioner Zelle, MN Department of Transportation; Commissioner Dohman, Department of Public Safety; and Commissioner Stine, MN Pollution Control Agency will also attend with Governor Dayton. Discussion will focus around how communities are adapting to increased rail traffic, safety considerations, and how the state can partner with communities. They also want to discuss how rail is impacting communities and how the state can be a better partner in mitigating community concerns about rail. This event is open to press and the public.
