Position Summary
Rooted in a rich railroad heritage, Hager City is one of our two factories in Wisconsin—located across the Mississippi River from Red Wing, Minnesota and about 250 miles from our location in Jefferson. Over 50 dedicated associates come together to produce wet and dry coatings for our pet food brands nationwide, making this location truly special. As a Staff Engineer, you’ll oversee equipment and factory layout design, manage capital programs and key projects, and ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the factory, utilities, and grounds in compliance with state and federal regulations and company. You’ll work with cross-functional groups in the successful management and execution of key projects as well as hold budgetary responsibility for assigned projects.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and coordination of the capital budget to improve and maintain equipment and facilities
- Lead and manage assigned capital projects to include new equipment installations, factory layout and design, manufacturing automation projects, and maintenance related projects
- Develop scope of work and evaluate bids for work completion and research energy utilization to continually reduce energy costs
- Monitor outside contractors to assure compliance with all company standards including sanitation, safety, quality, productivity, and budgeting
- Direct the installation of new equipment and/or modification/rearrangement of existing equipment for assigned projects
- Working knowledge of the engineering environmental activities including air, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and solid waste
- Responsible for the cost schedule and performance of assigned projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 2+ years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment
Other
- 1+ years of capital project or budget management experience preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $72,000 - $101,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
