A library page is an entry-level position in library support. Initially, under close supervision, this position performs a variety of routine manual support tasks. Helps provide the public access to library materials by ensuring that all library materials are readily available in an organized and accurate order.
This position is part-time, work schedule can be adjusted based on the student's schedule to ensure 10 hours per week, including some Saturdays.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs a variety of routine library support tasks including; sorting, shelving, stacking, and retrieving a wide variety of library materials.
- Maintains library materials according to alphabetical, numerical, and categorical systems.
- Conducts shelf reading for accuracy and shifts and transports books and other library materials to assigned areas as directed.
- Assists in keeping all areas of the library in a clean, neat, and orderly condition.
- Packs, unpacks, and distributes library shipments.
- Assists in program and display setup.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education, Certifications, Physical Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Must be 15 years of age and attending high school for no more than three years, employment ending upon graduation.
Physical: Stand and walk for long periods of time. Moderate physical effort of lifting between 5 and 25 pounds on a regular basis.
